Here Stand the Patriots, Over There Are the Colonialists

By Adán Chávez Frías on July 11, 2018

A whirlwind of events in our region and in the world, demonstrate the imperialist ferocity at this stage; the more the capital crisis deepens, the more brutal it is against democracy, sovereignty, and the independence of peoples.

In Our America, we are witnessing a real Judicial War to try to annihilate and neutralize the progressive, socialist and leftist leaderships in order to try to put an end to any alternative of resistance to a new neoliberal restoration.

In that sense, we sympathize with former President Rafael Correa, historical leader of the Patria Grande, victim of the judicalization of Ecuadorian politics, used as a weapon to roll back the social achievements of the Citizen Revolution that he promoted.

Through intimidation, political persecution and military threat, the United States intends to dismantle the Bolivarian integration project. The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) are all in the spotlight.

In the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez we remain alert to the plans of destabilization of the United States for our continent. We maintain our position to preserve Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, a proposal of the Bolivarian Diplomacy and the anti-imperialist vision of foreign policy promoted by the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez.

With different processes, each with its own peculiarity and characteristics, Latin America began more than two decades ago a new stage of liberation, which is now threatened by the neo-colonial voracity of a new pro Monroe doctrine, raised by the Trump administration, which wants us to go back to being Washington’s backyard. We will not allow it.

Imperialism wants to divide us, fracture us, to return to the dark night of the times when our destinies were decided by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, always for the benefit of capital and the transnationals and to the detriment of our peoples.

Let’s look at the sad and painful reflection of Argentina, a turn to the neoliberal right that has only brought more misery, hunger, unemployment, social insecurity for the people and has indebted the country for more than 50 years. It is a debt that millions of Argentines of two or more generations from now will have to assume.

Here the patriots, there the colonialists. We need to redouble the offensive and today, more than ever, consolidate the unity of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples; the will of the majorities to continue on the path of social justice, freedom, sovereignty and independence will not be obstructed by the political elites of the stateless oligarchy, the commercial bourgeoisie and the continental right, all lackeys of the American empire.

Here in Venezuela, we will continue to build our own way, that of Bolivarian Socialism; and we will continue promoting the pluripolar and multicenter world, solidarity exchange, cooperation, respect, non-interference and peace. With great humility, but with a high degree of responsibility, we say that we are aware of the role of Venezuela in the reordering the geopolitics of a new world.

A project to overthrow progressive governments is underway. The empire needs to reinstate submissive regimes in Latin America, with the help of local oligarchies, it wants to destroy us with the financing of neo-fascist groups and structures, it wants coups d’etat, civil wars, desolation and death to plunder our resources again. Despite the onslaught, we will come out victorious.

The plan of the hawks of the White House lacks historical sense. Our peoples have started the inexorable route to face the structural crisis of capitalism by building their own, anti-neoliberal and anti-imperialist alternatives and, although circumstantially, some have governments of an opposite sign to their interests, they will not regress in what has already been achieved. This is what they are demonstrating.

If we stay together, we will not be dominated again. Within the seven strategic lines guided by President Nicolás Maduro, faithful to the legacy of Chávez raised in the Plan of the Nation, we call to organize ourselves to reinforce the international struggle.

Faced with this attempt to recolonize, we have to redouble our pace, deepen our knowledge, strengthen the conscience and the Diplomacy of the Peoples, and reaffirm daily the commitment to independence and sovereignty of the Great Homeland. That will be one of the main tasks to be discussed in the IV Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which has already begun to take shape and multiply from our bases.

With Chávez Always!

All with Maduro!
