God Brings Them Up and the CIA Brings Them Together In Miami

By Ramón Pedregal Casanova on June 14, 2021

At the beginning of May, the Defense of Democracy in the Americas Forum was held in MIAMI-DADE, bringing together former presidents Mauricio Macri (Argentina), Andrés Pastrana (Colombia), Luis Guillermo Solís (Costa Rica), and Osvaldo Hurtado and Lenin Moreno (Ecuador), in addition to other figures of the Latin American ultra-right.

All of them share the common denominator of being loyal allies of Washington and linked to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in its dirty war against Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia and all progressive forces in the region.

The event was promoted by the Inter-American Institute for Democracy. Tomas Regalado, journalist and active member of the Cuban-American extreme right wing, has been president of the Institute since last year. The also former mayor of Miami managed to be plugged into this new position after being forced to resign from the position of director of the broadcasting office for Cuba, in the midst of several scandals that shook the ill-named Marti radio and TV.

Other institutions – which are also instruments managed by the U.S. government and its espionage agency – participated in the organization of this forum, such as the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA), a cartel formed by the owners of the continent’s major media outlets, which from its origin has been linked to the CIA, and which has a shameful history of complicity in coups and complacency with the atrocities committed by dictatorships in the region.

The ultra-conservative Fundación Libertad also participated. An Argentine pseudo-NGO that the CIA uses to attack popular processes, channel funds to right-wing movements or coup sectors and build public agendas contrary to the interests of the majority.

Of course, the discredited Organization of American States (OAS) on behalf of its discredited Secretary General Luis Almagro, whose successive actions against progressive processes in the hemisphere confirm his connection to the U.S. spy agency, could not be missing.

Press coverage of the forum was insured by Infobae, the toxic media portal run by shady businessman Daniel Hadad (another of the guests), a regular visitor to the US Embassy in Argentina and frequent interlocutor of CIA and Mossad agents operating in their respective stations in Buenos Aires.

The objective of this meeting of conspirators, defined in advance by Washington, was to reinforce the use of the OAS to interfere in the internal affairs of governments that are not to its liking, through the implementation of an analytical body that would issue an annual report on the state of democracy in each of the countries of the region.

For the rest, it was more of the same, furious attacks, manipulations and lies against governments and progressive forces in tune with the U.S. interference policy in the region. But the applause for his servility went to former President Lenin Moreno when he affirmed that the intelligence services of Ecuador have detected, and I have already informed President Ivan Duque, the gross interference of the dictator Maduro in Colombia, in reference to the social protests that have been shaking that country, although, of course, he forgot to mention the brutal police repression that has already killed more than 70 demonstrators, in addition to other serious violations of human rights.

Further discrediting the conclave was the participation of CIA assets of Cuban origin Carlos Alberto Montaner and Armando Valladares, due to their history of terrorist actions in Cuba, who, on behalf of that espionage agency, placed bombs and incendiary flasks in movie theaters and shopping malls. Who are they trying to fool when they now talk about democracy?

They were joined by Bolivian fugitive from justice Carlos Sánchez Berzain, current executive director of the IID. Another faithful collaborator of the CIA and former defense minister of former president Sanchez de Lozada. Known by the nickname of Minister of Death for his responsibility in the 2003 massacre that left 74 dead and more than 400 wounded. And as if that were not enough, Hugo Antonio Acha Melgar, alias Superman, also participated. Another famous fugitive from Bolivian justice accused of being the main financier of a terrorist network made up of Hungarian and Croatian neo-Nazis who in April 2009 planned to assassinate Evo Morales and other leaders of that country.

At that time, Mr. Acha Melgar was the president of the Bolivian section of the Human Rights Foundation (HRF). His boss in New York was none other than the terrorist Armando Valladares, who was then serving as secretary general of this fake NGO, created by the CIA to cover up its interference and destabilizing operations in the continent.

This Santa Cruz lawyer linked to conspiracy and terrorist actions in his country, with a clear connection to the U.S. spy agency and Bolivian military intelligence, has a postgraduate degree in defense and development at the school of high national studies of the Bolivian military university, and also a master’s degree in security at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Since his arrival in the United States, he has been linked as a researcher to the Center for a Free and Secure Society (SFS), directed by Joseph Humire, born in Bolivia, a former intelligence instructor in the US Navy with strong links to the US ultra-right. The SFS payroll is made up of former intelligence officers and analysts and its fundamental mission is to feed the disinformative media campaign and psychological warfare against Venezuela and Cuba, following CIA guidelines. (See article published in Rebellion on 24/2/2915 by journalist Andres Sal Lari entitled the Bolivian CIA against Venezuela).

Additionally, for some months now, Mr. Acha Melgar has also been working as an employee of the so-called Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FDHC), which belongs to the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), an organization of the Cuban American extreme right wing linked since its beginnings to terrorist actions against the island.

It seems that this Santa Cruz native is the favorite of Juan Antonio Blanco, its executive director, because despite not being Cuban and having worked there for a short time, he receives not only a large salary but also preferential treatment.

This Bolivian mercenary has been actively participating in the defamation campaign against the Cuban Medical Brigades together with other NGOs that also act as CIA front men, as is the case of the fake Spanish Human Rights NGO Prisoners Defenders. But in their collaboration with the FDHC they have gone even further by also campaigning against the Cuban military, fabricating false information about a supposed group of disgruntled military personnel. They are resorting to the same fallacy used by the Cuban American National Foundation during the terrorist acts against the hotels in Havana in 1997 and 1998, which they financed through the terrorist Luis Posada Carriles. This is extremely dangerous, as it could be an indication of the gestation of new plans for terrorist actions against Cuba.

If so, the CIA would have knowledge of these terrorist plans, since it not only gathers its assets in Miami when it is in its interest, but also uses them according to its convenience.

The participants of this forum that the CIA managed to gather in Miami remind us of the biblical passage that warns: Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7-15.
