At the VI Summit of Heads of State and Government of Celac, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez strongly defended the dignity of Cuba and its Revolution in the face of a lackey speech made by Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou, who represents the imperialist interests and the interference of the OAS.

“The courage and freedom of the Cuban people has been demonstrated for 6 decades in the face of aggression and the US blockade, a fundamental obstacle to advance our development something which Lacalle did not mention,” said the representative of the Cuban people.

“The OAS kept silent while torture was taking place in our region and in your country. The OAS is the one that is silent today when Latin Americans are repressed, murdered and disappeared. It is not in Cuba where these events occur,” Díaz-Canel said while looking directly at Lacalle Pou.

“The OAS is the organization that in the service of the US welcomed attempts to isolate Cuba, military interventions in Latin America and the Caribbean, coups d’état, military dictatorships, even in your country, Luis Lacalle Pou.”

“It is the OAS who has an unpresentable Secretary General who contributed, participated and supported the coup d’état in Bolivia. Neoliberalism, Monroism, and that OAS is what President Luis Lacalle Pou has just defended in his talk  here.”

The Cuban leader ended the confrontation provoked by the interfering speech of his opponent, with an invitation to discuss pending bilateral issues between both nations without interrupting the fundamental agenda of the Summit.
